The Division of Graduate Studies at UC Santa Cruz spans five academic divisions, offering 35 doctoral programs and 50 master’s programs. Graduate student internships provide professional experience and an opportunity for students to apply their expertise in a context beyond the university. Through internship experience, graduate students extend their networks and gain new perspectives on research problems.
Financial support will be provided by the graduate division to students seeking summer internships when students have the time, but not necessarily the resources, to pursue internship experience. Public fellows internships will connect students to public and cultural institutions, community organizations, and nonprofits that provide a service to society. Industry and commercial internships in large companies or emerging start-ups will allow students to bring fresh energy and crucial expertise in a professional context. Internship experience gives graduate students a greater sense of future trajectories and a broader professional network.
The division is actively seeking donors to support students in summer internships, creating critical experiences that may not be available otherwise. A gift on Giving Day provides graduate students with essential opportunities for professional development and integration into the local community.
Tyrus Miller has provided a 1:1 match up to $500 for gifts made on Giving Day!
