The mission of Crown College is to promote intellectual, professional, and social development in an inclusive living and learning environment. The college aims to challenge and engage its students to be prepared for the next steps in their futures. Among many offerings, Crown hosts one of the campus’s First-Year Honors Programs, a Science Learning Community, an annual Social Fiction Conference, and a number of enhancement classes.
Crown sponsors a class that helps students in the job market and a leadership certificate program that offers opportunities for active participation in our community. It is also becoming a hub for opportunities aimed at promoting innovation and entrepreneurship through our partnership with the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurial Development (CIED).
CIED places students in internships with Santa Cruz startups, social enterprises, and other organizations related to innovation and entrepreneurial development. Partnering with the thriving local tech environment to provide mentored internships is a significant enhancement for Crown’s educational program, and will help retain talented students in the Santa Cruz area after graduation. Collaboration with different campus groups, including Crown College, enables CIED to host events with outstanding speakers and networking opportunities.
Providing channels for professional development is priority for Crown College. Make your gift to Crown today to support the college’s commitment to enhancing professional development offerings.
