The theme of College Ten is “Social Justice and Community,” and the college brings these values to life through courses and co-curricular programs that provide students with opportunities for profound self-reflection, residential education, and options for experiential learning and service in the larger community. College Ten strives to cultivate thoughtful, compassionate, and astute students—across all majors and fields—who are dedicated to creating positive change.
Many College Ten students have firsthand experience of inequality in their communities and want to make a difference in the world—not just in the future, but right now. College Ten initiatives, like the Practical Activism Conference, give students tools for becoming social advocates in their day-to-day lives. At the conference, participants learn information about local and global issues. The programming encourages students to investigate their own experiences and the experiences of their peers in order to educate the larger campus community. Armed with a new understanding of social issues, students and faculty can initiate further research into these issues to make meaningful and lasting changes.
With your support, College Ten can expand on programs designed to guide students through the process of becoming leaders and change agents for social and environmental justice in their communities. Support will benefit such programs as the Practical Activism Conference, Multicultural Weekend, the Social Justice and Community core course, Alternative Spring Break, and new lectures and events from the CoCurricular Programs Office.
A gift to College Ten will support the vision of positive change in the community through intellectual engagement, academic research, and critical thinking coupled with hands-on field work. Join the game and give today!
