At UC Santa Cruz, the Archaeological Research Center was established to bring these disciplines into dialogue to advance inquiry and increase community engagement. Within the UC system, the ARC plays a unique role because of its commitment to integrating undergraduate training, world-class research, and social justice. We believe that this new institutional context will foster the next generation of creative archaeological inquiry on campus and beyond.
