Global and Community Health is an urgent area of research, study, and practice. Our program prioritizes the improvement of health and well-being in communities worldwide with a particular focus on marginalized groups. This impactful new program at UC Santa Cruz is aimed at addressing challenges of ill-health both globally and locally.
The Global and Community Health Wellbeing Awards offer funding for graduate and undergraduate student research alongside community partners. Our interdisciplinary program seeks to address forces affecting health outcomes that range from the molecular, ecological and genomic to the global, political and economic. The goal is to support the sustainability of communities and climates for health while cultivating a new generation of global and community health leaders.
By linking biomedical and social transformation at the community level, we seek to help make ‘global health’ a reality for all.
The Division of Social Sciences Global and Community Health (GCH) Wellbeing Awards program is offered through the Institute for Social Transformation, who supports and facilitates the wellbeing awards.
Your support can help make a difference towards making their research visible and long lasting by helping undergraduate and graduate students to disseminate their research. Please consider making a gift to GCH today.
