Slugbotics is raising money to support our entirely student-run robotics projects.
The projects for this year include:
- MATE: A yearly underwater robotics challenge in which we design, build, and program a semi-autonomous underwater drone capable of performing tasks to meet challenge parameters.
We design everything from the frame to the onboard electronics and firmware and complete challenges including underwater computer vision and object manipulation. - F1Tenth: F1TENTH is an autonomous robotics competition in which teams compete by developing self-driving algorithms for a one-tenth scale autonomous racecar.
- CITRIS Aviation Prize: A new ecological aviation challenge for which we are designing an autonomous aerial vehicle capable of taking off vertically, flying for 115 miles, and taking environmental surveys to measure fire risk and plant health in a 200 acre area.
The team also runs four Fall onboarding classes to teach:
- Solidworks CAD (Computer Aided Design), 3D printing, and CAM (Computer Aided Manufacturing)
- Electrical circuit design, sourcing, and construction
- User interface design and networking
- ROS (Robot Operating System) and computer vision
Your gift will allow us to send more members to competitions, start new student-led projects, and maintain our equipment.
