Match Opportunity: Your donation will be matched dollar for dollar up to a total of $1,000 throughout the day. Matching funds were generously provided by a UC Santa Cruz Foundation Trustee.
As the world is returning to some version of normal, a generation of promising undergraduate and graduate students in archaeology is depending on us to get them into the lab and the field! Below are just a few of the ways your gift to the UCSC Archaeological Research Center makes an impact:
1. The Graduate Research in Archaeology Fund (GRAF) provides seed money for graduate students to conduct preliminary dissertation research or to complete small projects related directly to their Ph.D. Small grants such as these are often hard to come by, but can make a big difference in launching a graduate student's career. So DIG DEEP to support our grads on Giving Day!
2. The Training Undergraduate Research Fund (TURF) is a NEW fund to sponsor undergraduate juniors and seniors who are interested in gaining hands-on experience in archaeology. This exciting new program is designed to provide undergrads with opportunities for personal and professional development, as well as to inspire and prepare them to pursue graduate studies in archaeology or a related field. So DIG DEEP to support our undergrads on Giving Day!
3. The ARC Lecture Series provides invaluable opportunities for all of our students and for the general public to learn about the latest discoveries in archaeology and to network with leaders in the field. So DIG DEEP to support ARC public lectures on Giving Day!
Donations made on Giving Day will go directly to the three priority areas identified above. $1,000 in donations will send an undergrad or graduate student to the field, support a grad student's preliminary laboratory analysis, or fund a public lecture. Your donation on Giving Day will make a huge difference in archaeology undergraduate and graduate students' lives and careers!
So please DIG DEEP to support the next generation of archaeologists at UC Santa Cruz!
