Treehouse Undergraduate Bioinformatics Immersion

Match Opportunity: Ted Goldstein, Jessica Bernhardt, and Lou and Leslie Grate are generously matching all donations, dollar for dollar, up to $6,000.

Your gift to the Treehouse Undergraduate Bioinformatics Immersion (TUBI) program makes it possible for students to contribute to the effort to find cancer treatment options for individual kids.

UC Santa Cruz undergrads in the TUBI program work in a supportive environment on bioinformatic projects that contribute to this important endeavor. They gain key bioinformatics training, the experience of being part of a research team, and the soft skills that translate into career success.

Treehouse is also very excited to share that we are planning a new diagnostic lab that will — for the first time under one roof — house the tools and expertise to sequence and analyze pediatric cancer samples and point to previously unexplored treatment options. TUBI undergrads’ experience will introduce them to exactly this type of lab work, so they can become the next generation of bioinformatic scientists defeating pediatric cancer.

A generous donor will match your gift 1:1 up to $5,000 to get the ball rolling on this new effort.

The Treehouse dream is to defeat childhood cancer using computation. Your gift will train a member of the next generation of computational genomics scientists who will tackle childhood cancer and give hope to children and their families.
