Match Opportunity: Lori Kletzer is generously matching all donations, dollar for dollar, up to $750.
The Educational Opportunity Programs (EOP) Breaking Barriers Fund supports first-generation college students from low-income and educationally disadvantaged backgrounds and ensures they successfully complete their undergraduate education.
Your contribution will be allocated to the mission of relieving financial strains of first-generation, low-income, non-traditional, re-entry students, etc. at UCSC. With EOP serving more than 6,000 students, we have made it a goal to raise $10,000 that will keep supporting an array of services including orientation, academic, and personal advising, peer advising, tutorial assistance in specific subject and writing areas, and preparation for graduate and professional schools. In addition, EOP’s goal is to support students with emergency costs such as unexpected medical bills, food insecurity, housing, educational expenses, legal fees, family emergencies, professional development opportunities, and loss of income due to immigration status. All of which are financial barriers that may help reduce the financial distress that impacts students’ academics and ensure access and achievement in higher education.
With your support we can continue providing much needed resources to our students. If there are any questions, visit our Giving Day project website and learn more about the career-developing programs we continue to offer with your support.
