Academic Excellence (ACE) Program in STEM

What is ACE?

The Academic Excellence (ACE) Program reduces the achievement gap for historically underrepresented students majoring in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). We've been doing this successfully for more than 30 years! ACE increases educational equity through community building, peer-mentorship, and supplemental active learning experiences aligned with academic coursework. When ACE went virtual last year because of COVID, we were able to keep the community and learning alive. 


Here's why our students love ACE.


Your gift helps us make space for all the students who want to participate in our ACE community and improves the effectiveness of our program.  

  • Last year, more than 800 students participated in ACE. Help us reach more this year!
  • We need more student mentors! Help us employ talented ACE students to guide their peers as they navigate the many challenges toward a STEM degree.
  • We are building a resource library of digital hands-on learning tools that engage students in the skills they need to think like scientists and engineers. Help us provide these amazing STEM learning resources.
