Once a year, Shutterslug creates a photo journal called Lightleak, containing works submitted by UCSC students both inside and outside of the club. This photo journal takes two quarters to complete and is always a huge undertaking, but the end result is a physical journal containing an abundant diversity of student work and expression.
One of the major hurdles we have to overcome every year in order to make this dream a reality is printing costs. This is really our only expense, but it's a big one, and it's usually down to the wire before we get all of the funding we need. That's why we are asking you to donate to us during Spring Give, so that we can not only keep Lightleak going, but possibly make it even bigger and better than before! Depending on how all of our project deadlines work out, the money you give will either (1) be used for printing this year's edition of Lightleak, (2) be used for printing next year's edition, possibly with more pages and more copies, depending on the amount we receive, or (3) be used for both this year's and next year's editions. Digital copies of Lightleak can also be found at https://shutterslugphotography.org/archive/ for your viewing pleasure.
