Friends of Lambda Alpha National Anthropology Honor Society is raising funds to support undergraduate scholarship. Funds raised during Spring Give will be used to reimburse undergraduates for membership fees associated with joining the Lambda Alpha National Honor Society; payment for official transcripts and other fees necessary for applying for scholarships and grants through the Lambda Alpha National Honor Society and other organizations; poster printing costs, conference registration fees, and other expenses related to undergraduate research presentations; and graduate school application fees.
This project will help undergraduate students interested in pursuing anthropology in graduate school and as a career overcome the initial financial barriers that often bar low-income students from access to participation in conferences, symposia, and prestigious award competitions.

UCSC’s Lambda Alpha National Honor Society chapter (Alpha Gamma of California) and the accompanying student group "Friends of Lambda Alpha National Honors Society” exist to encourage and stimulate scholarship and research in Anthropology by recognizing and honoring superior achievement in the discipline among students, faculty, and other persons engaged in the study of Anthropology. We recognize superior achievement in the discipline among students through awarding student scholarships, research grants, and student paper prizes. We organize activities for intellectual engagement, foster a space of fellowship, and provide academically focused services to the college and community.
