The Sustainability Office proudly has a long-standing tradition of providing paid undergraduate student positions to help advance sustainability and climate resilience efforts campus-wide and engage students to become effective environmental professionals and leaders.
The Sustainability Office has provided as many as 30 paid positions annually, focused around a team model to maximize student success. Each student works collaboratively with their peers alongside staff and/or faculty supervisors to advance key sustainability initiatives. Current Sustainability Office student teams include Green Labs and Green Office programs, Carbon Neutrality Team, Sustainability & Environmental Justice Ambassadors, and Student Sustainability Advisors.
Depending on the sustainability team students are involved with, responsibilities can include: collaborative partnership with campuses across the UC system, research, quantitative and qualitative data analysis, writing project and grant proposals, event planning and coordinating, designing outreach materials, facilitating workshops and coordinating social media outreach.
