Educational Opportunity Programs (EOP)
EOP Breaking Barriers Fund

The mission of Educational Opportunity Programs (EOP) is to provide various academic and personal support programs to first-generation to college, low-income students with diverse social and personal identities and from historically marginalized backgrounds, so that they may achieve their academic, professional, and personal goals and become active leaders in their communities.


Your contribution today to our EOP Breaking Barriers Fund will support our mission of alleviating financial hardship that our students may face during their time at UCSC. Our goal of raising $10,000 will help support our programs and services and provide direct awards for our 5,000 students. We have a team of 10 professional staff and 60+ student staff that together coordinate events, workshops and programs year round to provide holistic support to our students. Our programs and services include: 

In addition to these programs, EOP provides students with direct financial assistance through scholarship awards. We support students with emergency costs such as unexpected medical bills, food insecurity, housing, educational expenses, family emergencies and professional development opportunities. By supporting students with these financial barriers we may help reduce the financial distress that impacts students’ academics and ensure access and achievement in higher education. 


With your support we can continue providing these much needed resources to our students. Here are some ways that your contribution today can support our EOP community:


$100 - Supports EOP free printing and free snack pantries 

$150 - Supports an EOP student with textbooks and course materials for one quarter 

$450 - Supports an EOP student with textbooks and course materials for a full academic year

$900 - Supports an EOP student with a new laptop for their studies 

$1500 - Supports an EOP student with a hardship award for emergencies
