Younger Lagoon Reserve Rain Gear Replacement Fund
Rain is coming and our interns could use some new gear!

Younger Lagoon Reserve provides unparalleled opportunities for students to learn about the environment, implement field projects, obtain hands-on habitat restoration experience, and become actively involved in research and stewardship projects. 


Our Habitat Restoration Team is composed of students who often spend time in the field during Santa Cruz’s rainy season while tending to our restoration sites, monitoring for biodiversity, and stewarding the wildlands of around the UC Santa Cruz Coastal Science Campus. Many times these students are using our shared closet of rain gear in order to have a successful and comfortable experience. This work is rough and rugged, and after some years of heavy use, we are looking to purchase some high quality replacements for our worn out jackets and pants.

  • Provide support to a decades long habitat restoration and stewardship program;
  • Empower the next generation of land stewards and conservationists even in foul weather; 
  • And finally, help Younger Lagoon Reserve to purchase 10 new sets of high quality and long lasting rain gear!
