Miss out on the Giving Day fun? You can still be part of our big day by making a gift here!
UCSC Opera

Today only: your donation will be matched dollar-for-dollar by Lee and Lincoln Taiz up to $2,000!

Thank you so much for visiting the fundraising page for UCSC Opera! Every contribution you make goes directly toward supporting our students as they deepen their understanding of one of the most all-encompassing and demanding art forms.

Last spring, with your help, UCSC Opera students celebrated an exuberant return to fully staged, live opera with an extra special production of Henry Purcell's The Fairy Queen at the UC Santa Cruz Quarry Amphitheater. This year, we're thrilled to be back to work with productions celebrating women in opera. This month, our students will perform musical theater scenes and audition for the winter Free Family Opera (Pauline Viardot's playful Cinderella) and the fully staged spring production: Rachel Portman's The Little Prince.

We need your help. Your contributions enable us to work creatively to keep the winter opera free. Your contributions also help support our collaboration with the El Sistema music program. We are thrilled to be reviving our work with El Sistema and to have a group of 4th and 5th graders from MacQuiddy Elementary School in Watsonville join us onstage for The Little Prince. Your contributions also cover the ever-rising costs of bringing in professional designers to create sets, lights, costumes, and wigs that bring our stories to life in amazing and inspiring ways.

Contributing today will help us reach today's goal of $5,000 to help us continue to present enriching operatic experiences for our students and their audiences.

Thanks for your support! We look forward to seeing you at the opera!!
