Miss out on the Giving Day fun? You can still be part of our big day by making a gift here!
Library Opportunity Fund
Create an impact with a gift to the Library Opportunity Fund today!

At the UCSC Library we are committed to increasing and facilitating student and faculty access to materials. We continue to set the standard of what it means to offer a comprehensive learning and research experience to our campus community.

It is safe to say that libraries have been going through an enormous transition over the past twenty years. The digital age has had an unprecedented impact on how all of us consume, preserve, and browse information. As one can imagine, this shift has not always been easy for librarians. But resisting change and becoming obsolete was never an option. So we reinvented ourselves. And while not every library patron has been enthusiastic about this, a huge and growing majority of our patrons have embraced the new opportunities of a 21st-century library. Libraries today are more popular than ever before.

On Giving Day 2022, you have an opportunity to join us all and increase access to content for all. All of your gifts to the Library Opportunity Fund will support the most pressing needs our patrons face. For some it is books and learning spaces. For others, it is digital content and access to online memberships. Your support will help us respond to their most pressing needs. Thank you!

Who will my Giving Day gift benefit?

Gifts to the Library Opportunity Fund on Giving Day will directly benefit all of our undergraduate and graduate students, as well as the faculty members, at UC Santa Cruz.

What programs will my Giving Day gift support?

Programs at the UCSC Library that are supported by your gifts to the Library Opportunity Fund include services such as the purchase of new books, of documentary streaming rights, and materials for 3d printers to offer students hands-on experience with new technology. The Library Opportunity Fund exists to direct funding to the areas of greatest need in the library.

A $50 gift allows us to purchase a new book.

A $100 gift helps us purchase a month's worth of materials for our 3-D printing programs.

A $250 gift provides us with one year of streaming film access.

A $500 gift helps us with all of the above and more.

We invite you to celebrate and support our work by giving to the Library Opportunity Fund today.

Success!
