ACCESS: A Bridge to University Science
ACCESS is an academic bridge program that supports underrepresented community college students who are interested in pursuing careers in biomedical research. Our mission is to provide opportunities to gain knowledge and skills that will increase transfer eligibility and academic success. We work with an average of 300 students per year at Cabrillo, Gavilan, Hartnell, and Monterey Peninsula College, offering both academic support and enrichment activities such as study sessions, research seminars, and lab tours. In addition, eligible students may participate in the ACCESS Summer Research Institute, where they join research teams at UC Santa Cruz and engage in active research projects. Your donations will help to keep the program going at its current level of success so that we can continue to strengthen the education of our students, promote their transfer to four-year schools, and even foster their attainment of advanced degrees. Please donate today—any gift will be greatly appreciated!
