Every day in the United States, 42 children are diagnosed with cancer. Of these, 14 will die from their treatments and/or diagnosis, and 19 will suffer profound side effects from treatment.
We are determined to change these facts.
Our mission is to promote sharing of the world's genomic data and to harness that data to defeat every child's cancer. We do this by working with hospitals and advocacy groups to accelerate sharing and to run bioinformatic analyses so we can all learn from pediatric cancer genomic data.
This research benefits from state, federal, and foundation funding, but the scope of what needs to be done far exceeds those resources. More funding will help us to increase the number of children whose tumors can be sequenced and increase the universe of cases against which those tumors can be compared.
Your contribution on Giving Day will help us add three more hospitals to our network, so that we can always increase the number of children we serve.
