Many students at UC Santa Cruz really have found not only a new activity, but also a community with our Ping Pong club! Since the club was founded two years ago, more than 200 students have subscribed to our email and Facebook group messages. We have also competed with other universities, including UC Berkeley, UC Davis, San Jose State, and Stanford University. This year, one of our team members ranked second in the Northern California Division. However, with no funding from the university and are only two table tennis tables, it is very challenging to compete. When we go to a competition, we have no team uniforms; instead, we all bought banana slug T-shirts as our uniforms. We will use the Giving Day funding to buy table tennis tables and team uniforms. With these new purchases, not only will more people will be able to play at UC Santa Cruz, we will also be able to better represent UCSC. Small changes can have big effects-Thank you!
