Hermanas Unidas Inc. de UCSC (HaU Inc.) is an organization that functions as a support system to women, predominately Chicanas/Latinas, by participating in and organizing academic/professional development, community service, and social events/workshops. This chapter plans on attending the Annual Statewide Conference that all the chapters across California attend. At the conference, Hermanas Alumna from different chapters provide us with tips and resources for life after graduating, including interactive workshops and social networking events among the chapters. Apart from the Statewide Conference, we host an end-of-the-year banquet in the spring where we recognize the Hermanas and their achievements by giving them the awards, certificates, and plaques they have earned. This banquet is also where we acknowledge our Hermanas who will be graduating by handing them the sashes they will use for their commencement ceremony(ies). With the Giving Day donations, we aim to continue the development/growth and overall quality of this organization by providing these women with all the resources (i.e., fundraisers for our events, workshops, and study jams) they can have in order to achieve their goals in academics, career, and life. We aim to continue and strengthen the Hermanadad—a relationship that represents the unity of the women who motivate, support, accept, and stand by each other. The Hermanadad starts in college, but it lasts a lifetime. “Once an Hermana, Always an Hermana.”
