We are Adventures in Sori Creation, a group of UCSC graduate students interested in music that creatively combines musical traditions from around the world. Our goal is to present new works for Chinese instruments and to create a musical connection between the Little Giant Ensemble from Taiwan and graduate composers from UCSC. We are planning a concert for the Little Giant Ensemble from Taiwan on April 15, 2017, as part of the April in Santa Cruz Music Festival.
Ultimately, as composers we seek to contribute to, enrich, and promote a diverse musical environment for composers, performers, and audiences moving forward into the 21st century. Your gift will help not only with this concert, but also with furthering our professional goals of creating similar projects.
We are also seeking help in providing local accommodations and transportation for visiting musicians once they arrive in the Santa Cruz area. If you contribute to our call for support, then you would be promoting support of intercultural musical collaboration from artists around the Pacific, as well as local Santa Cruz musical performers and composers.
