Donate to Students for Haiti Solidarity (SHS) to help provide Haitian students with access to a college education. SHS is currently trying to support the academic pursuits of five students by raising $7,400 in scholarship money. Our student-run organization works in solidarity with SOPUDEP, a grassroots organization in Haiti that is working to bring about social change, partially through the provision of education. In Haiti, the educational system is privatized, inhibiting the opportunity for poor families to send their children to school. Once students have graduated from SOPUDEP’s free K–12 educational program, they become eligible for these scholarships. By reaching this goal, we will be able to send each ambitious student to their first year of college, and you will be making a statement that education should be a right rather than a privilege. Please assist us in reaching our goal by donating to our cause on Giving Day and spreading the word!
