Help Us Teach People about Climate Change, Ocean Health and Sustainability
OpenLab collaborative Research Center at UCSC has created an innovative Art & Science multimedia display to educate and engage our communities across the country in Climate Change, Ocean Health and Sustainability. This timely and unique mobile display system is called Oceanic Scales
Oceanic Scales is designed as an art exhibit and display featuring freestanding structures set up for a variety of installation options, indoor or outdoor with a solar power option. The project includes the development of free downloadable curriculum plans for elementary school teachers & an augmented reality info system that serves as a key to the interactive, Oceanic Scales puzzle.

WHAT's Next?
On the road! Oceanic Scales will become a traveling Art & Science pop-up exhibit and exploration lab. Our plan is to create a portable system that we can pack up all phases of the Oceanic Scales project and travel to communities in a variety locations across the country. This will include incorporating new technology for hands on learning and participation. This includes equipment such as air and water sensors, microscopes, a hackspace / mechatronics tools, 3D printing and an outdoor video projection mapping / audio system.
