UCSC Fencing Club
Welcome to the UCSC Fencing Club Giving Day page!

As fencing is both a beginner-friendly and competitive sport, the UCSC Fencing Club gives just about anyone the opportunity to learn how to fence and be able to join a welcoming community! Please support us during UCSC's 2023 Giving Day to help us improve our fencing family in more ways than one!


With your support, the funds we obtain will be used to purchase more and better equipment, including electric supplies for fencing strips, comfortable gear, new swords, and tools to help repair our equipment. The money will also help the club compete in NCIFL tournaments, and even help us host one of our own! In general, more support means a safer, more productive, and, most importantly, more enjoyable club!


After a successful recruitment during this year's Cornucopia event, club turnout during our Sunday, Monday, and Wednesday practices has been flourishing—more than it ever has in recent years! A new form of our community has been emerging—and with it came a slight sparsity in equipment to allocate evenly with our new members. Nevertheless, this new influx of eager fencers has made everyone, new and returning, more excited than ever to thrive in the new school year. Meeting new people, learning and improving on our footwork and blade control, bouting with all sorts of levels on the strip, watching other fencers train hard with an eagerness to compete—our fencing community, which we are still working on building, already has the biggest glimpse of growth and success. And this community will be able to take even larger leaps with your help!
