Help us replace the UCSC Farm's deer fence!
Since its founding in 1971, the 30-acre UCSC Farm has hosted farmer training programs, workshops, research projects, classes, and internships for students, faculty, community members, and aspiring farmers. Since 2017 the Center for Agroecology has grown food on the UCSC Farm for students facing food insecurity, donating more than 20,000 pounds of organic produce to student food pantries and other Basic Needs programs each year.
The UCSC Farm’s perimeter fence is more than 30 years old and needs significant repairs. We need your help to keep critters from damaging the crops so we can continue to provide experiential learning opportunities and fresh produce to the community.
Your Giving Day donation will fund a new deer fence to keep this beloved space secure and and productive. Help us reach our $25,000 goal by donating and sharing our project. Thank you for your support!
Thank you to our student team for filming, editing and sharing this video about how the deer fence will impact their experience on the farm.
