Clothing Closet and Professional Photo Booth

Career Success is raising money to support student's access to FREE professional clothing and professional services. This project supports our ongoing efforts to remove barriers of access for first-generation and low-income students. Your donation will greatly impact students' ability to obtain experiential learning and employment opportunities. Join us to help all Banana Slugs change the world!

Fundraising Goal: $20,000

About the project

The Clothing Closet at UCSC will allow students to obtain business casual and business professional attire for presentations, interviews, career fairs, and other professional business events. The Clothing Closet will be available at no cost to students and will provide a sustainable clothing option that addresses students' basic needs and allows them to dress for success!

The Clothing Closet will be conveniently located at Career Success in the Hahn Student Services Building. A private, clean, and safe space will be provided where students can browse a variety of clothing, including suits, jackets, blazers, slacks, pants, skirts, shirts, blouses, shoes, and accessories. Resources about dressing to impress, navigating the journey from student to professional, and basic needs resources will also be provided at the Clothing Closet.

Near the Clothing Closet, a photography booth will allow students to take photos to use for their professional profiles and websites, such as LinkedIn. The professional photo booth will be portable, allowing it to be used at recruiting and other campus events.

Both the Clothing Closet and the professional photo booth will enable students to make a good impression and feel confident as they navigate their professional journey without being burdened by the cost associated with professional clothing and professional services.

How your donation will be used:

Structural supplies such as shelving, closet organization, racks, mirror, etc.
Initial clothing purchase: After an initial clothing purchase, donations from faculty and staff will be solicited
Maintenance of photo booth equipment and associated technology
Support for two student employees to help run, organize, and promote the service
