In the Social Sciences Division at UC Santa Cruz, we believe that social, economic, political, and technological changes transform global society. We are determined to provide our students with an experience-based, comprehensive, and rigorous education that prepares them for productive careers and further academic pursuits.


As a division, we’re developing research-based solutions to urgent problems focusing on social justice, environmental regeneration, democratic revitalization, and equity, access, and opportunity for all.

 

On Giving Day 2023, you have an opportunity to create a high impact! All gifts to the Dean’s Fund will specifically support diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility programs and services for students and faculty in the Social Sciences Division.


Who will my Giving Day gift benefit?

Gifts to the Dean’s Fund on Giving Day will directly benefit undergraduate and graduate students and faculty members in the Social Sciences Division at UC Santa Cruz.


What programs will my Giving Day gift support?

Raised funds will be allocated to new and existing programs that serve students from underrepresented and underserved backgrounds within the sciences. Funds will go towards programs like Building Belonging, designed to foster student success, increase engagement, and build a greater sense of belonging for under-represented undergraduate students through faculty-mentored service-learning and research projects. The division is highly invested in continuing to develop additional programs that support, in particular, underserved minority groups, and your gift will allow these seeds to grow into something special.

UC Santa Cruz Foundation Trustee Jim Gunderson, UC Santa Cruz Executive Vice Chancellor, Lori Kletzer and Ken Kletzer, and a consortium of anonymous donors are generously matching all Social Sciences Dean's Fund donations, dollar for dollar, up to $1,400.
