UCSC Opera

Thank you so much for visiting the fundraising page for UCSC Opera! Every contribution you make goes directly toward supporting our students as they deepen their understanding of one of the most all-encompassing and demanding art forms.

This quarter, we are presenting our free family opera (Menotti’s Amahl and the Night Visitors) on December 3rd at 1pm and 3pm. During winter quarter, our opera students will present scenes from Spanish-language Zarzuelas. Next spring quarter, our students will perform Gilbert and Sullivan’s Iolanthe with orchestra, professionally designed sets, lighting, costumes, wigs and makeup.

Your support enables us to keep our annual family opera free for families in our community. Your support enables collaboration efforts with local programs such as El Sistema and the Museum of Art and History. Your support makes it possible for opera students to attend dress rehearsals and performances at professional Bay Area companies. Your support goes to cover the ever-rising costs of bringing in professional designers to create the sets, lights, costumes, and wigs that bring our stories to life in amazing and inspiring ways.

Contributing today will help us reach today's goal of $5,000 to help us continue to present enriching operatic experiences for our students and their audiences.
