The Gail Project is working with 150 photos taken by Charles Gail in Okinawa in 1953, housed in Special Collections at McHenry, to create a traveling exhibition on the history of the U.S. in Okinawa. To launch the exhibition in the fall of 2017, we are traveling to Okinawa this summer to create exhibition elements—photo essays, maps, podcasts, oral histories, and more—that dive into the historical context of the photos and legacies of the American military bases. Your gift helps students do on-site research that will change their lives. Follow us on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and Tumblr.
Our matching gift of $2,500 has been met! Let's keep the support going today!
