For the past 20 years, the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) has established a strong sense of familia where students can socialize and make a difference. We take responsibility for our collective strength and passion by developing communities, building a diverse and inclusive membership, and challenging each other to be our best. Today we are asking for your support of the SHPE student chapter at the University of California, Santa Cruz, by making a gift to help us provide more resources, scholarships, projects, company events, and much more for our members!
If you are unfamiliar with the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE), we are an all-inclusive support group that aims to provide continuing assistance to our members in both academia as well as personal matters. We strive to empower the Hispanic community to realize its fullest potential and to impact the world through STEM awareness, access, support, and development. Our Santa Cruz chapter started off with five members in 2000, but through dedication and support we have grown to a network of 40+ active members.
By giving to SHPE UCSC today, you will help raise funds that will go toward providing our members with more resources, scholarships, engaging projects, company events, etc. We are restricted by funding at the moment. We are unable to host many of the activities, resources, and projects that we believe can help build community, strengthen professional skills, and expand our membership. In recent years, we have also been unable to provide members with scholarships for conferences. As it stands, we do not have enough funding to put into fundraisers that can generate more funds for us. Your donations would allow the chapter to continue growing and prospering!
As a donor or possible full-time sponsor, you can help the SHPE stay afloat! In return, we can offer to advertise your company within our personal network, and with your help guide our members toward becoming a possible industry leader in your company.
