The Department of Microbiology and Environmental Toxicology (METX) Peer Mentoring Program aims to create a safe and welcoming space for both incoming and returning METX graduate students who want an opportunity to connect with experienced METX graduate student peers. Graduate student mentors offer tips to better navigate and understand program requirements, as well as general expectations of graduate student life at UCSC.
Key elements of the mentorship program are to provide perspective on what graduate students can expect in both formal and informal elements of graduate education and to share knowledge outside of the traditional graduate program curricula, such as how to utilize grad-specific campus resources, and how to navigate adviser relationships.
Help us raise money to support the METX Peer Mentoring Program!
Your support will go toward ensuring the continuation of this mentoring program, providing mentors with stipends, and helping with event expenses, such as mentor/mentee workshops and meet-ups.
Thank you so much for your generous donation!
