Don't know what to do after college? GradPath can help!
Figuring out what to do after college can be challenging and stressful. It can be difficult to make big life decisions, like whether to go to grad school, alone. That's why WiSE started GradPath! GradPath is a mentoring program that pairs undergraduates who are considering going to grad school with current UCSC grad students. Undergrad mentees receive guidance on their next career steps, while grad mentors get the opportunity to hone their mentorship skills.
Since GradPath began in 2022, we have created over 150 successful mentorship pairs. We receive more applications every semiannual mentorship cycle, so this total is rising quickly! GradPath accepts mentors and mentees from all departments at UCSC, not just STEM. Many pairs choose to continue meeting after the program ends, cultivating valuable, long-lasting mentor relationships.
You can help GradPath grow
Removing barriers to inequity in academia is one of WiSE's core values. A diverse group of mentors is essential to creating meaningful mentor pairs. To ensure that all grads who are interested are able to participate in GradPath, we provide all mentors with a $50 stipend to compensate them for time taken out of their busy schedules. We are close to receiving more mentor applications than we have funding for, which is where you come in!
Your donation to WiSE this Spring Give will allow us to create more mentorship pairs and grow our program. A $50 donation will provide one grad student and one undergraduate with the opportunity to create a meaningful mentor relationship that will enrich both of their lives. Any amount matters greatly for us to continue our mission of demystifying grad school for the next generation of academics.
Thank you for considering a donation to WiSE!
