The Center to Advance Mentored, Inquiry-Based Opportunities (CAMINO) is an inclusive community that aims to propel excellence by diverse undergraduates in ecology and conservation through paid summer research internships, drop-in mentoring, professional workshops, and community events.

Examples of previous research projects are kelp reforestation, observing female mountain lion den behavior, stable isotope analysis of elephant seals, scientific illustration in collaboration with the Ken Norris Center for Natural History, examining health in valley garter snakes, and many others.
During fall quarter, after their summer research internships, students present their work to the ecology and conservation community at the CAMINO Research Symposium, including both a poster and a presentation session.
