SlugSat is a Jack Baskin School of Engineering affiliated, student-run club with the goal of designing, building, and launching a satellite into Earth orbit. Our club is pursuing this goal by following an education/research satellite standard known as a CubeSat. The CubeSat standard was created in 1999 at the California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo in order to allow university students and researchers the opportunity to launch satellites into orbit at a low cost. Since then, thousands of CubeSats have been launched including hundreds from universities around the world. Your gift will help with the costs involved in designing and building a UCSC satellite. Imagine the possibilities.
