El Centro Student Professional Development Fund
Support a student in achieving their professional and aspirational goals!

The mission of EL CENTRO is to promote a critical understanding of Chicanx and Latinx communities within the United States and internationally. Through collaborative efforts with campus partners, El Centro organizes activities that support students' intellectual growth, leadership development, preparation for graduate and professional school, and future career options. El Centro hosts a variety of events to support students’ professional development in collaboration with Career Success and other campus and community organizations, including the Latinx Alumni Network. We also offer weekly drop-in services at the Ethnic Resource Centers Lounge for students to receive direct support with applying to internships, resume and cover letter review, and post-graduate exploration.

During our Spring Give, you can directly support a student in achieving their professional and aspirational goals! The El Centro Student Professional Development Fund will support currently enrolled Latine students seeking to obtain the skills, networks, and supplies necessary to be successful in their chosen professions. After attending an El Centro professional development event and completing an appointment with our Career Engagement Specialist, students will have the opportunity to receive funding that can be used to offset the costs associated with participation in a variety of opportunities, including:

- Professional conferences fees

- Participate in leadership trainings and certificate programs that require a fee

- Department Store Gift Cards for business attire

- Professional headshots

- Supplies and materials needed for employment

To kickstart the El Centro Professional Development Fund we have a goal of fundraising $10,000. Thanks to supporters like you, we believe it’s possible. Will you help us?
